About Me
A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others" - Japanese proverb
-
When I started teaching it was 'just a job.' I thought little of the impact I could have on the lives of others. Now, over thirty two years later, bringing the best out of people and a passion to see them learn are what motivate me the most.

Born and raised in Cardiff, a graduate of Portsmouth University with a Degree in Geography, I completed my PGCE at the University of Chichester before starting my teaching career in the same city. After that I taught in Montego Bay, Jamaica and in a few different schools back in the Chichester area before working and developing my craft in two excellent schools in W. Sussex & Hampshire - one state, one private.

In addition, I have a TEFL Certificate, have recently completed the CELTA course in Cardiff and am a member of IATEFL. In July 2020 I completed a short course on teaching English online. Since the summer of 2017 I have been tutoring 1:1 both Primary and ESOL students.

This face to face interaction has provoked me to start Sharpway Tutoring, a great platform to grow this most rewarding profession.
